Started off very optimistic, but found that lots of errors were being made and the CPA was not actively managing my accounting. She certainly did not function as a CFO. Whenever I’d point out a problem, she got defensive or blamed it on her VA staff. I’m talking glaring, obvious problems that jumped off the page to me. I rescind my earlier endorsement.
Thank you for your response. I hope that you find a firm that you can communicate with on a consistent basis and are willing to listen to best-practice advice. During your tenure starting Dec 2021, we provided tax planning, and tax preparation (1040 & two 1120s), payroll, 401K admin, and bill pay services and you received continuous answers to any questions regarding anything from business structures to tax registrations just to name a few. (Our turnaround response time is 24-48 hours to all emails or calls.) Additionally, we resolved all issues based on letters or requests for information including filing out information for loans or applying for government aid without additional cost to you for time spent. We put together a budget and KPIs. These are activities of CFOs/Controllers for small businesses.
